COLLEGE TEAM HIGHLIGHTS
Feb 06 2010 - Joleen S
Get to know your college teams:CAL STATE FULLERTON TITANS have a long history of winning. In the 35 years they've been a Division I school, they haven't had a losing season. They've won 4 national championships. The great thing is, they are right here in Orange County making it easy to catch a game. Why the elephant? In the 1960s, Tuffy the Titan became the school's mascot. The school hosted the 1st Intercollegiate Elephant Race - no kidding. 15 elephants were entered in the race.
Titans have produced many MLB players as well. Here are a few you may have heard of: Kurt Suzuki (Oakland As), Mark Kotsay (Chicago White Sox) and Jose Mota (now Angels Announcer)
